The third annual Rick's Run For Kids (RR4K) is fast approaching. This year's event will be Saturday, October 15 at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor. Rick's Run is an event that was created to honor the legacy of Rick Dekeon, a long time PE teacher at Northside Elementary School as well as a coach of many Rec & Ed teams. There is a friendly competition among all the district schools to get the most participants for the run! The school with the largest number of RR4K participants receives a framed photograph and certificate of achievement for their building. In addition, the school will be featured on Rec & Ed's Facebook and Twitter accounts and the RR4K website.
Proceeds benefit the Rec & Ed Youth Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to children and teens from low income families to participate in after school classes, recreational sports, and summer camps.
